Flash Flood Risk and Strong Winds Threaten East Coast
A storm system is set to impact the East Coast, particularly along the I-95 corridor, from Tuesday through Wednesday. According to the FOX Forecast Center, this system will bring torrential downpours with rainfall rates potentially exceeding 1 to 2 inches per hour. A Level 2 out of 4 flash flood threat has been issued for areas including the Lower Hudson Valley, New York City, and Philadelphia. Additionally, a secondary low-pressure system may form near Long Island, intensifying rain rates and causing strong coastal winds. Wind gusts could reach 40 to 50 mph in some locations, with total rainfall amounts possibly exceeding 3 to 5 inches by Wednesday. This system is expected to follow a southerly trajectory, differentiating it from typical summer storms in the region.
