Father Warns Parents After Son's Sudden Death from Rare Disease
Viet Vu, a father from Denver, Colorado, is raising awareness about systemic capillary leak syndrome (SCLS) after his 5-year-old son, Justin, died suddenly during a family vacation in Oregon. Justin began experiencing symptoms such as a stomachache and vomiting, which led to his hospitalization. Initially suspected to be an infection, doctors later diagnosed him with SCLS, a rare condition where fluid leaks from capillaries, causing severe health issues. Despite medical intervention, Justin passed away five days after being hospitalized. Vu is sharing his son's story to inform other parents about this rare disease, which is difficult to diagnose due to its subtle symptoms.
