Heavy Downpours and Storms Expected in Carolinas Through Week
The Carolinas are bracing for more thunderstorms this week following localized flooding caused by slow-moving storms on Tuesday. According to WBTV, Wednesday and Thursday will see scattered storms capable of producing heavy downpours, dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, and damaging wind gusts. Temperatures in Charlotte are expected to reach the mid-80s °F (29-30 °C), but high humidity will make it feel like the 90s °F (32-34 °C). Similar conditions are forecast for Thursday and Friday, with warm, muggy weather and afternoon storms. Rain chances will decrease over the weekend, but temperatures will rise closer to 90 °F (32 °C), with isolated showers and thunderstorms remaining possible.
