Pennsylvania Expands Use of Generative AI Tools to Enhance State Workforce Efficiency
Pennsylvania is advancing its integration of generative AI tools across its state workforce, following a successful one-year pilot project involving ChatGPT Enterprise. The initiative aims to improve efficiency and workflow among public-sector employees by deploying AI tools to over 3,000 workers across 35 agencies. The pilot project demonstrated that AI could save workers an average of 95 minutes per day by assisting with tasks such as drafting emails and summarizing reports. The Department of Human Services and the Board of Pardons are already utilizing AI for document processing and transcription tasks. The state plans to further embed AI into its systems, supported by a comprehensive training program developed by InnovateUS.
