The visit highlighted the strong alliance between the United States and the United Kingdom, with Charles emphasizing the historical ties and the importance of NATO. Earlier in the year, Stewart had criticized Trump on social media for questioning the courage of NATO troops in Afghanistan, a statement Trump later retracted. Stewart and Trump were once friends, but their relationship soured over Trump's support of Israel.
