Wildfires Scorch 60,000 Acres in Northern Minnesota, Over 600 Firefighters Deployed
Minnesota officials provided an update on Monday, July 20, 2026, regarding the ongoing battle against at least 15 wildfires in the northern part of the state. According to Superior National Forest officials, the fires are concentrated north of the Echo Trail, west of Echo Lake, and east of Highway 53. The wildfires have already burned through approximately 60,000 acres. In response, more than 600 firefighters from across the United States and Canada have been mobilized to contain the blazes. Efforts are ongoing to prevent further spread and protect nearby communities and natural resources.
