WCSO Drone Assists in Arrest of Man Shooting Near Homes in Sun Valley
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office utilized a drone to locate and arrest a man shooting too close to homes in Sun Valley. Responding to a citizen's report, deputies deployed the drone, which provided real-time location data of the suspect. The man, identified as 33-year-old Daniel Austin, was arrested on charges of possessing a short-barreled rifle and unlawful discharge of a firearm. The Sheriff's Office emphasized the importance of knowing and adhering to local shooting laws, directing residents to the WCSO Safe Shooting Map for guidance.
