Two Charged After Four Children Discovered in U-Haul Box Truck in Illinois
Two individuals, Roy Hamel II and Sabrina McKinney, have been arrested and charged with child endangerment in Livingston County, Illinois, after deputies discovered four children in the back of an enclosed U-Haul box truck. The discovery was made during a routine traffic stop on an Interstate 55 on-ramp in Pontiac. In addition to the four children, two adults and two dogs were also found inside the truck. A body camera photo released by the Livingston County Sheriff's Office showed the conditions within the box truck. The children were transported to a hospital for examination due to concerns about possible heat-related injuries. The driver reportedly informed law enforcement that the group was in the process of relocating from Louisiana to Michigan. Hamel also faces an additional charge of driving with a suspended license. Both individuals are currently held at the Livingston County Jail.
