The National Weather Service (NWS) warns of a high risk for heat-related illnesses, with temperatures significantly above seasonal averages. Coastal erosion and dangerous surf conditions have also been reported, alongside thunderstorms in San Diego County. Relief is expected by Friday as cooler, less humid air moves in.
