Nirmal Purja, Star of Netflix Documentary, Dies in Avalanche on Broad Peak
Nirmal Purja, a celebrated mountaineer featured in the Netflix documentary '14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible,' has died in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan. The 43-year-old British-Nepali climber was part of an expedition that included climbers from several countries. Purja was renowned for his 2019 achievement of climbing the world's 14 highest peaks in just over six months. His death, along with nine others, has been confirmed by his company, Elite Expeditions. The tragedy has shocked the mountaineering community and highlighted the risks associated with high-altitude climbing.
