Community Colleges Pave the Way for Quantum Technology Workforce
Community colleges across the United States are positioning themselves as key players in preparing the workforce for the next technology revolution, particularly in quantum technologies. These institutions are becoming vital incubators for innovation, providing flexible, workforce-aligned training that allows students and professionals to acquire new technical skills. The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) recently hosted the Southern Maryland Regional Quantum Forum, bringing together educators, industry leaders, and community stakeholders to discuss the future of quantum technology and the necessary workforce infrastructure. The forum emphasized the importance of collaboration across education, industry, and government to support emerging fields like quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing.
