Jewish Ukrainians Celebrate Passover Amidst War with Russia
Despite the ongoing conflict with Russia, the Jewish community in Kyiv, Ukraine, celebrated Passover with a series of events organized by Chief Rabbi Yonatan Markovitch and his son Rabbi Ariel Markovitch. The celebrations included central Seders at the Jewish Community Center Beit Menachem and the Or Avner Perlina school, as well as a special Seder for Jewish detainees. Ukrainian government officials, including Chief of Staff Kyrylo Budanov and Deputy Iryna Mudra, participated in the events, highlighting the community's resilience and unity. President Volodymyr Zelensky also extended greetings to the Jewish community, emphasizing the importance of light and unity during challenging times.
