President Trump Ordered to Disclose Financial Details in $10 Billion BBC Lawsuit
A U.S. federal judge has mandated that President Donald Trump disclose detailed financial information as part of his $10 billion lawsuit against the BBC. The lawsuit, initiated by Trump in December, accuses the BBC of defamation by allegedly editing his January 6, 2021, speech to suggest he incited the Capitol riot. Trump claims this editing damaged his brand and business interests. Despite objections from Trump's legal team, U.S. Magistrate Judge Enjoliqué Lett ruled that the BBC is entitled to request information about Trump's business interests, as the lawsuit involves claims of business damages. The ruling allows the BBC to investigate the finances of over 400 companies owned by the Trump family trust, unless overturned by an appellate judge.
