Wendy's Worker Thalles DeSouza Accepted into Yale University with Full Scholarship
Thalles DeSouza, a former Wendy's manager, has been accepted into Yale University on a full scholarship valued at over $194,500. DeSouza, who fled to the United States from Brazil after surviving a shooting, worked at Wendy's in Cape Cod, where his bosses encouraged him to pursue higher education. They set aside funds to support his college tuition, allowing him to attend Cape Cod Community College and later transfer to Bunker Hill Community College. DeSouza excelled academically, serving as student body president and earning straight As, which led to his acceptance into Yale, where he plans to major in political science with a minor in human rights.
