Prince William Plans Major Estate Sale to Fund Housing and Wildlife Projects
Prince William, the Prince of Wales, is set to sell off a fifth of his private estate, the Duchy of Cornwall, over the next decade. This decision is part of a broader strategy to invest in housing and nature conservation. The Duchy, which spans 21 counties, has been a part of the royal inheritance since the 14th century. The Times reports that Prince William's plans include the construction of affordable homes in areas such as the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall, and Kennington in south London. Additionally, more than two hundred million pounds will be allocated to wildlife projects. This move reflects a significant shift in the management of the estate, aiming to address housing shortages and promote environmental sustainability.
