Mining Company GreenLight Wisconsin Receives Approval for Drilling in Northern Wisconsin
GreenLight Wisconsin has received approval from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to conduct exploratory drilling for copper, gold, and other metals in northern Wisconsin. The company plans to drill up to 20 holes across 15 sites in the Bend deposit located in Taylor County near Medford. This approval comes with 25 conditions, including compliance with amended stormwater and dewatering permits, and obtaining a wetlands permit for three drill sites. Additionally, GreenLight must secure federal approval from the U.S. Forest Service and provide an updated bond of $185,000. The company anticipates receiving the necessary federal approval soon, which will allow them to begin mobilizing to the site.
