Georgia Schools Implement Anti-Shooter Drones to Enhance Safety
Georgia has introduced a pilot program called 'Campus Guardian Angel' in five school districts to enhance school safety using anti-shooter drones. Approved by the Georgia State Board of Education, the program is developed by Mithril Defense, a Texas-based company, and costs the state $500,000. The drones are equipped with sirens, pepper gel, and other devices to distract and incapacitate potential shooters, allowing law enforcement more time to respond. The program also includes an app to improve situational awareness for staff, teachers, and parents. Georgia is the second state to adopt such a program, following Florida's lead in 2025.
