Berlin Gold Hat: Ancient Headdress Used for Celestial Tracking
The Berlin gold hat, a 3,000-year-old ceremonial headdress, was likely used by an ancient priest during sun cult ceremonies to track celestial events. Made from a single sheet of hammered gold, the hat is adorned with motifs representing a calendar, allowing the wearer to calculate lunar months, solar years, and predict lunar eclipses. It is one of only four such Bronze Age artifacts found in Central and Western Europe. The hat is currently housed in the Museum of Prehistory and Early History in Berlin, having been acquired in 1996.
