Author Becky Wills Returns to Sandburg High School for Writer's Series
Becky Wills, a published author and Carl Sandburg High School alumna, recently returned to her alma mater in Orland Park, Illinois, as part of the school's visiting writers' series. Wills, who now resides in London and teaches poetry at the University of Surrey, shared her experiences and insights with students and teachers. Her debut novel, 'Stun: A Novel in Pieces,' explores themes of prescription drug addiction and the opioid epidemic in the United States. During her visit, Wills conducted a writing workshop, judged a student fiction contest, and engaged in a question-and-answer session. The event marked the first return of the visiting writers' series since the COVID-19 pandemic.
