Security Guard Kills Gunman in Robbins, Illinois Restaurant Shooting; Mayor Sustains Graze Wound
A masked gunman, identified as Marquelle Rose, 29, of Chicago, was fatally shot by a security guard inside Harold's Chicken Ice Bar in Robbins, Illinois, after opening fire towards an intended target. The incident occurred late Friday night into Saturday morning in the 13700 block of South Claire Boulevard. Robbins Mayor Darren Bryant was present at the restaurant to pick up a food order and sustained a graze wound from a bullet while seeking safety. He was treated at a local hospital and subsequently released. A DJ at the bar also suffered a graze wound. According to a village spokesperson, neither Mayor Bryant nor the DJ were the intended targets of the shooting. The spokesperson emphasized that the individuals involved were not from Robbins, stating that the 'act of violence does not reflect the people, families, or spirit of our community.' The Robbins police have requested assistance from the Cook County Sheriff's Office to investigate the shooting.
