Denver City Council is reviewing its contract with Veo, the city's exclusive micromobility operator, due to ongoing issues with illegal sidewalk riding of electric scooters. Despite a new ordinance requiring sidewalk-detection technology, scooters continue to be ridden on sidewalks, prompting complaints from residents. Councilman Chris Hinds has requested a contract review by the City Attorney’s Office, citing potential non-compliance by Veo. The company claims it is implementing the required technology, but issues persist. Veo plans to enhance enforcement measures, including user warnings and account suspensions for repeated violations.
