Grantham Foundation Awards Highlight Innovations in Reducing Chemical Toxicity
The Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, in collaboration with Deep Science Ventures and ID Capital, has announced the winners of the inaugural Detox Awards at the Future Fit Asia conference in Singapore. The awards aim to support innovative solutions that address chemical toxicity in food, agriculture, and packaging systems. The winning teams, Pandawa Agri Indonesia and researchers from the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein, were recognized for their technologies to reduce herbicide use and degrade toxins in food, respectively. They will share $90,000 in non-dilutive funding to further their work. The event emphasized the systemic risks posed by chemical toxicity to human health and economic resilience, with a keynote by Jeremy Grantham highlighting the urgent need for detoxification innovations.
