Evacuation Orders Lifted for Some Areas Near Aspen Acres Fire in Colorado
Authorities in southern Colorado have announced the lifting of evacuation orders for Zone C4 near the Aspen Acres Fire, effective Monday at 8 a.m. (Source time: not specified). This follows the reopening of Zone C9B on Saturday. The fire, which has burned approximately 100,224 acres, is now 61% contained, according to the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control. Firefighting crews are actively conducting backburning operations in Zones C2 and C3, which remain under evacuation. Residents returning to reopened areas are required to have re-entry cards and are advised to stay alert as conditions may change. The Custer County Sheriff's Office is also initiating wildfire mitigation education sessions to enhance community preparedness.
