Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin Engages with Governors on Security Issues at NGA Meeting
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin participated in the National Governors Association (NGA) Summer Meeting held in Oklahoma City. The meeting brought together governors from across the United States to discuss critical homeland security issues. Key topics included disaster preparedness and response, cybersecurity coordination, and immigration. The NGA emphasized the role of its Governors Homeland Security Advisors Council, which collaborates with federal officials throughout the year to address national security concerns and develop best practices. Additionally, the Governors’ Cybersecurity Advisors network was highlighted for its efforts in strengthening cybersecurity across states and territories. A significant point of discussion was the call by more than 30 governors for Congress to enhance coordination between federal and state authorities, particularly in response to the increasing threat of malicious drone activity.
