Metsä Group Expects to Surpass EUR 300M Savings Target Amid Cost-Saving Initiatives
Metsä Group, a Finnish forest industry company, anticipates exceeding its EUR 300 million savings target by the end of 2027. The company launched a cost-savings and profit-improvement program in July 2025, focusing on procurement, logistics, wood supply, and fixed-cost reductions. The program has progressed faster than expected, with significant savings already realized in 2026. The initiative includes improving production efficiency and optimizing logistics, with more than half of the savings expected from these areas. The program has resulted in 790 job reductions, primarily in Finland and Sweden.
