Tennessee Valley Fair Plans Major Celebration Amid Uncertain Future at Chilhowee Park
The Tennessee Valley Fair is gearing up for its 106th annual event at Chilhowee Park, set to coincide with America's 250th birthday celebrations. The fair, scheduled for September 11-20, 2026, will feature a variety of attractions including rodeos, demolition derbies, and musical performances by artists such as rapper T.I. and country singer Tucker Wetmore. This year's theme, 'Great American Swine-A-Bration,' aims to honor the country's agricultural roots with activities like pig races and a pork cook-off. Despite the festive plans, the fair's future at Chilhowee Park remains uncertain. The city of Knoxville has a lease agreement with the fair through 2029, but retains the right to make changes six months before each annual event. Discussions about relocating the fair to a new site, such as Rutledge Pike, are ongoing, though no decisions have been finalized.
