Walmart Faces Federal Safety Warnings and Recalls for Thousands of Products
Several consumer products sold through Walmart's online marketplace have been subject to federal safety warnings and recalls, as announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recalls involve items such as electrical cords, baby swim products, and cookware, with risks including electrocution, carbon monoxide poisoning, drowning, and burn injuries. These products were primarily sold through Walmart.com by third-party sellers. Notably, male-to-male extension cords, which pose a serious electrocution risk, were among the recalled items. The CPSC has urged consumers to stop using these products immediately and dispose of them safely. Additionally, 'Relaxing Baby' swim floats have been linked to a child's death, prompting a warning against their use. Granitestone sauté pans have also been recalled due to burn hazards.
