Nor’easter May Bring Rain to New York This Weekend
The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed a new tornado in New York State, bringing the 2026 total to 25. This tornado, which occurred on August 27 in Ferris Lake Forest, Hamilton County, was identified through public drone footage showing wind damage. As summer transitions to fall, average high temperatures in the region are expected to drop from 67°F (19.4°C) to 57°F (13.9°C) by mid-October. Meanwhile, meteorologists are closely monitoring a potential nor’easter expected to develop along the East Coast this weekend. Current models suggest the storm may track farther southeast, reducing the likelihood of significant rain in the area until Saturday night or Sunday. Daily highs in the 60s°F (15-20°C) and overnight lows in the 40s°F (4-9°C) are forecast for the next week, with a slight chance of isolated frost midweek depending on cloud cover.
