Midway 5K Raises Record Funds for Special Children's Charities in Chicago
The Midway 5K race recently returned to Chicago's Midway International Airport after a multi-year hiatus, drawing over 1,000 participants. The sold-out event successfully raised more than $100,000 for Special Children's Charities, an organization dedicated to providing year-round sports, recreation, and inclusion programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Chicago. Participants ran and walked a 3.1-mile course on a service road parallel to a Southwest Airlines maintenance hangar, offering a unique experience with jets landing and taking off in the distance.
