Indian Student's Suicide in the U.S. Highlights Unemployment Struggles
Iraganaboyina Chandu, a 26-year-old student from Andhra Pradesh, India, died by suicide in the United States. Chandu had recently completed his master's degree from DePaul University in Chicago and was actively seeking employment. Reports indicate that he was under significant emotional strain due to his inability to find a job and the financial burden on his family back in India. His father, a security guard, faced hardships that deeply affected Chandu. The Indian community in the U.S. has initiated a fundraiser to repatriate his body and support his family financially. The fundraiser aims to collect $120,000, with over $76,000 raised so far. Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh and Union Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu are involved in facilitating the return of Chandu's remains to India.
