Global Grants for Gut Health Initiative Opens 2026 Funding Cycle for Microbiome Research
The Global Grants for Gut Health, a collaboration between Yakult and Nature Portfolio, has launched its 2026 funding cycle to support research on the gut microbiota's impact on neurological function. This initiative aims to fund innovative projects that explore the gut-brain axis, including mechanisms like immune signaling and neurotransmission. Up to three grantees will receive $100,000 each to advance their research. The application period is open until July 14, 2026, with winners to be announced in December 2026. The program seeks candidates with a strong track record in their fields who can lead independent, interdisciplinary research projects.
