Google Discover to Introduce AI Chatbot-Tuned Feed Customization
Google is rolling out a new feature for its Discover feed that will allow users to customize their content recommendations using an AI chatbot interface. This functionality, set to appear in the Google app in the coming days, will leverage artificial intelligence to automatically adjust the feed based on user descriptions and remember these preferences for future use. Users will access this option through the three-dot menu on their Discover feed, where they can describe their desired content. The chatbot will then confirm these choices and outline the types of content it will prioritize. Users will also have the opportunity to provide additional information if the initial interpretation is not entirely accurate, before refreshing their feed to apply the changes. This development follows a trend seen in other social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Bluesky, and X, which have also incorporated AI for feed customization.
