Congresswoman Alma Adams Hosts HBCU Braintrust Luncheon During Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Conference
Congresswoman Alma Adams recently hosted the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Braintrust Luncheon as part of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. The event convened HBCU leaders, partners, and approximately 50 students from across the nation. The primary focus of the luncheon was to facilitate discussions on the future of HBCUs, addressing both the challenges and opportunities these institutions face. Congresswoman Adams, alongside Representative Jahana Hayes and other panelists, engaged in conversations about how businesses can contribute to creating impact and opportunities for HBCU students. The event highlighted the historical role of HBCUs in fostering community, expanding opportunities, and supporting student success, aligning with the belief that there is room for every dream. As a gesture of support, IKEA, a sponsor of the event, provided each student attendee with a $100 gift card for their dorms or apartments.
