National Safety Council Joins OSHA Alliance to Prevent Workplace Serious Incidents and Fatalities
The National Safety Council (NSC) has announced its participation in the National Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention Alliance, a new initiative established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This alliance aims to reduce workplace incidents and fatalities by providing employers with essential training and resources. The program will focus on helping organizations identify and eliminate high-risk hazards that could lead to serious injuries or deaths. The alliance brings together OSHA, NSC, and other key safety organizations, including the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), and the University of Colorado Boulder's Construction Safety Research Alliance (CSRA). Lorraine Martin, CEO of NSC, emphasized that this collaboration represents a significant evolution in their shared mission to prevent injuries and save lives in U.S. workplaces, moving towards proactively addressing conditions that lead to serious outcomes.
