Virginia Lowers Flags to Honor Victims of Domestic Violence
Flags across Virginia are lowered to half-staff today to honor Cerina Wanzer Fairfax, who was shot dead by her husband, former Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax, in a murder-suicide. This tragic event has drawn attention to the issue of domestic violence. Governor Abigail D. Spanberger ordered the flags to be lowered as a tribute to Dr. Fairfax and all victims of domestic violence, emphasizing the need for awareness and action against such violence.
