Prada and Axiom Collaborate on New Spacesuit Layer for NASA's Artemis Missions
Prada and Axiom Space have unveiled a new spacesuit layer designed for NASA's Artemis lunar missions. The collaboration has resulted in a Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment (LCVG) that features advanced temperature regulation and life-support capabilities. This garment is part of the Axe suit, which will be worn by astronauts on the moon. The LCVG includes channels lined with tiny tubes for cooling fluid circulation, maintaining a steady body temperature, and large tubes for air flow to provide oxygen and expel carbon dioxide. The suit is designed to withstand extreme temperature variations on the moon's South Pole, where the Artemis missions are set to land.
