Hacker Pleads Guilty to Massive Data Theft from Snowflake Customers
Connor Moucka, a 26-year-old Canadian citizen, has pled guilty to hacking over 165 companies, including major firms like AT&T, LendingTree, and Ticketmaster. The U.S. Department of Justice announced that Moucka stole billions of records, including sensitive information such as call records, banking details, and Social Security numbers. Moucka and his accomplices extorted companies and individuals, receiving over $2.5 million in ransom payments and an additional $500,000 from selling stolen data on hacking forums. The victims suffered losses amounting to $9.5 million. Moucka, known online as Waifu and Judische, was arrested in Canada in 2024 and is scheduled for sentencing on October 27, facing potentially decades in prison.
