Michigan College Students to Receive Free OpenAI Credits for AI Skills Development
Up to 450,000 Michigan college and trade school students are eligible to receive $100 in free OpenAI Codex credits during the 2026-2027 academic year. These credits allow students to access OpenAI's Codex, a cloud-based AI tool that facilitates project building and software development. The initiative aims to equip students with practical AI skills necessary for future careers in various fields, including engineering, healthcare, and technology. The program is part of a broader effort by OpenAI to promote AI literacy and workforce training in partnership with Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.
