Rep. Laura Friedman Secures Funding for Holocaust Museum LA Expansion and Co-Sponsors Education Act
U.S. Congresswoman Laura Friedman (CA-30) recently toured the newly expanded Goldrich Cultural Center at Holocaust Museum Los Angeles. Friedman was instrumental in securing over $8 million in state funding for this expansion during her tenure as a California Assemblymember. The expansion significantly increases the museum's footprint from 28,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet, providing more space for temporary exhibits, a theater for film screenings, and classrooms for lectures. Among the new exhibits is 'The Beautiful Game,' which explores the history of Jewish people and soccer before, during, and after the Holocaust. Friedman emphasized the importance of remembering and educating the public about the Holocaust, especially given the rise of antisemitism.
