National Science Foundation Invests in Low-Dimensional Semiconductor Technologies to Boost U.S. Microelectronics Leadership
The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) has launched a new initiative, the NSF Ecosystem for Low-dimensional Electronics: Growth, Assembly, Nanoelectronics, and Translation (NSF ELEGANT) program. This program aims to transition low-dimensional semiconductor technologies from laboratory demonstrations into practical platforms for U.S. manufacturers. The goal is to develop and deploy advanced microelectronics, which are crucial for next-generation capabilities in artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and advanced communications.
