Global Tourism Sector Recovers Post-Pandemic, Faces Sustainability Challenges
The global tourism sector has largely recovered from the significant downturn experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, international arrivals plummeted by over 70% from 1.4 billion in 2019. However, four years later, the sector has regained most of the lost ground, contributing significantly to global economic growth and providing relief to many countries and communities reliant on tourism.
