Duke Energy Provides Energy-Saving Tips Amid Rising Temperatures in the Carolinas
Duke Energy, one of the largest energy holding companies in the United States, is offering practical advice to help customers in the Carolinas manage their energy consumption as temperatures are expected to soar into the 90s. The company suggests several strategies to reduce energy use, such as setting thermostats to the highest comfortable setting, using cooler water for laundry, and operating heat-producing appliances during cooler morning hours. Additionally, Duke Energy recommends closing curtains and blinds on sunny sides of homes and using ceiling fans in a counterclockwise direction to circulate cooler air. The company is also promoting its energy efficiency programs, including a free home energy assessment and incentives for shifting energy use to off-peak times.
