Smyrna's 117th Regional Training Institute Graduates New Military Policemen
The 1-117th Regiment, Military Police Battalion, based at Smyrna's Volunteer Training Site, recently held a graduation ceremony for 29 new Military Policemen. These Soldiers completed an intensive four-week Military Police Basic Course, transitioning from various previous Military Occupational Specialties to become military law enforcement officers. The graduates hail from multiple states, including Arizona, California, New Hampshire, Texas, and Virginia, and represent Active-Duty, National Guard, and Reserve components. The course, which began on July 25, focused on law enforcement skills, special tactics, crime response and investigation, traffic accident investigation, and training with lethal and non-lethal weapon systems.
