Philanthropy Leaders Call for Greater Collaboration and Generosity at Milken Conference

The panel, titled 'Investing in Hope: Philanthropy for What’s Next,' included representatives from the McKnight Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, Blackstone Charitable Foundation, Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The discussion emphasized the importance of working together to address global and national challenges, such as political instability and economic uncertainty. Panelists suggested that philanthropic foundations should increase their payout floors to address growing needs, citing the MacArthur Foundation's decision to raise its level from 5% to 6%. The panel also addressed skepticism about philanthropy and the need to demonstrate measurable outcomes.
