Outdoor Recreation Roundtable to Unveil New Workforce Policy Recommendations
The Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) is set to host a webinar on Monday, September 14, 2026, to release new policy recommendations aimed at supporting and strengthening the outdoor recreation workforce in the United States. Titled 'Building a Thriving Workforce for America,' the webinar will introduce policy suggestions for state and federal policymakers. These recommendations were developed by members of ORR’s Outdoor Recreation Workforce Consortium, a coalition comprising over 30 colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide, with additional input from industry leaders. The initiative builds upon previous research by ORR that identified key hiring opportunities within the outdoor industry. The webinar will feature prominent voices from the outdoor recreation and workforce development sectors, who will discuss the current state of the outdoor workforce, explore avenues for enhancing career pathways, and highlight the necessary policies to foster its continued growth.
