Orlando Health Expands in Alabama with Acquisition of RMC Health System
Orlando Health, a Florida-based healthcare provider, is expanding its presence in Alabama by acquiring the RMC Health System, which includes a 375-bed medical center, outpatient facilities, and specialty practices in Northeast Alabama. The acquisition, announced on Tuesday, is part of Orlando Health's strategy to enhance healthcare services in the region. The City of Anniston, which owns RMC, has approved the transaction, and it is expected to be finalized this fall, pending regulatory approvals. The deal includes significant investments in RMC's facilities, equipment, and technology to improve patient care and physician recruitment. The acquisition follows Orlando Health's recent $910 million deal to acquire majority ownership of five hospitals in Birmingham, Alabama, from Tenet Healthcare.
