IRS Launches New Mobile App for Taxpayer Services, Replaces IRS2Go
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has introduced a new mobile application designed to provide taxpayers with enhanced access to their tax information and services. This new app replaces the previous IRS2Go application and offers several key features for secure account access. Taxpayers can now use their mobile devices to check refund and amended-return statuses, view available balance information, make payments, review payment activity, and access select notices and letters. Additionally, users can view available tax records and transcripts, manage profile and communication preferences, and access their Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN). The IRS emphasizes that this app expands mobile access to selected Individual Online Account services but does not replace the comprehensive resources available on IRS.gov or through IRS online accounts.
