Lisbon has introduced a groundbreaking cashierless parapharmacy in Parque das Nações, offering 24/7 access to health, baby-care, and wellness products. This innovative store, named Pharma&Go, utilizes artificial intelligence, cameras, and sensors to monitor purchases, eliminating the need for human cashiers. Customers enter the store by tapping a contactless bank card, select their products, and leave while the system automatically calculates the purchase total. The store, which opened in November 2025, is part of a broader trend in autonomous retail infrastructure, providing convenience for travelers and locals alike. However, it does not dispense prescription or over-the-counter medicines, focusing instead on personal-care products and diagnostic tests.
