Northumbria University Students Aid County Durham Church in Revenue Growth Efforts
Students from Northumbria University’s Business Clinic are collaborating with St. Andrew’s Church Hall in Spennymoor, County Durham, to enhance its income and expand community services. The church hall, managed by the Parochial Church Council and primarily operated by volunteers, serves as a community hub, generating revenue through bookings. The Business Clinic students conducted a comprehensive audit of the church's current activities, analyzed competitor strategies, and explored additional funding sources. They also distributed an online survey to gauge community interest in various events and amenities. The students proposed a tiered recommendation system—bronze, silver, and gold—offering options for immediate improvements, such as minor repairs and enhanced online advertising, to increase the hall's appeal and awareness.
