U.S. Mint Releases U.S. Constitution Quarter for Semiquincentennial Celebration
The United States Mint has begun circulating the fourth in a series of five quarters commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The new 1776-2026 U.S. Constitution quarter features James Madison on the obverse and Independence Hall on the reverse. This release is part of a series that includes quarters honoring the Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War, Declaration of Independence, and the upcoming Gettysburg Address. The coins are being produced at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints and are distributed through the Federal Reserve Banks to commercial banks and financial institutions. The Mint started production in April, with 3 million coins struck by May.
